The Days to Come.

Funnily enough, a month ago today I released a piece entitled ‘What’s happening in 2018’, and boy… that does not feel like a month ago… Nonetheless, in that post I talked about a few of the things happening over the next few weeks or even months; explaining the fact that as of the week commencing the Fourteenth of May (my most unfortunate birthday) I would sit the first of many, many exams we have in the U.K called ‘GCSEs’ which stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education. To simply be a certificate for ‘secondary’ education, to me feels like it undermines its important in the lives of the many, but oh well…

Now, as I’m sure you’ve gathered, today is Sunday the Sixth. Placing me just under a week away from the first of many, and I think what’s most strange about the experience is the fact that I’m not worried. Maybe I’m worried about the fact I’m not worried, but that would be all. The voice in my head reminds me repeatedly again, and again, and again that there’s so much that I personally do not know, or so much that I personally can and will get wrong… but I suppose that’s the quintessential point of this piece.

This goes out to the few of you in the same situation. This also applies to those of you in foundationally similar occasions, where the outcome of events determines a large point of your life or even your entire future in general; I want you to remember this. The voice in your head will always tell you there’s so much we don’t know. Whilst, of course, none of us can know everything, what’s important is in our heads we will always tell ourselves we know less than we do, but you are smarter, adapted, more brilliant than you give yourself credit for. So when you begin whatever it is you have left to do, be it exams or a new job or a new change of life, just know that you will be okay. Relax. And you’ve got this.

A happy note to end on.

Good morning, Good evening, Goodnight. No matter what time it is for you at the time of reading this, I hope you are having an absolutely remarkable day. If you’ve made it this far, I assume there’s still something you may need some encouragement for… so if my words aren’t enough? here are some generic, cheesy, motivational quotes from the internet. Enjoy!

“Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ‘Til your good is better and your better is best.”

St. Jerome

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.

Helen Keller

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.

Stay happy,
